Always hunting for that elusive independent restaurant to enjoy, I hopped in my car and began to hunt for the new and unknown. Mesa21 brings authentic Mexican food to the Clermont area and with a great atmosphere that invites you come bring your friends and have a casual meal while allowing patrons to engage socially.
The menu is designed for you to collaborate your senses accordingly. There are no preset numbers to order, no deals, no package sets. With Mesa 21 you mix and match to your heart’s content. There is a lot of choices for proteins and the ability to create platters for a large group to share.
A cool feature they off there is the “Re-order” flag. Did you enjoy your meal so much or you and your group need more tacos to wash down those margaritas? Then raise your flag and the staff will take your re-order right from your seat.
If you’re in the neighborhood during the week they also have lunch specials where you can get a select number of tacos along with rice and beans and a drink (The perfect combo for a lunch meal in my book).
Mesa 21 with it’s modern design and authentic Mexican cuisine hit me right in the feels. I really liked the locale and the atmosphere generated in the space. Not trying to go overboard, I thought I would sample a few of the options. I had the Barbacoa, Chicken Tinga, and Picadillo tacos with a side of a chicken quesadilla.
The also have a variety of sides to accompany any main dish as well as a appetizers to get started.
Along with amazing food choices, Mesa21 also has a wide variety of cocktails to wet your whistle with fresh and authentic flavors.
I had the pleasure of talking to Mike about the restaurant and we discussed the 2nd opening which will be in Lake Ivanhoe. The plans for that one are to make it their full service restaurant. Think of Pei Wei and PF Changs’s but with the two restaurants acknowledged each other. Overall, Mesa21 is a shining spot in Clermont and I look forward to many more visits and tons more tacos!
